Fuji Xerox Australia Releases 2011 Sustainability Report

5 September 2011

Local award wins and supply chain refinement reflect broad sustainability achievements aiding the company’s business growth of 16 percent.

Sydney, Australia – 5 September, 2011 – Fuji Xerox Australia today released its 2011 Sustainability Report which details the company’s success in delivering sustainable practices over the last year. The report includes Fuji Xerox Australia’s sustainability milestones and achievements over the 2010/2011 year, as well as recording significant growth of 16 percent ($919.9m revenue).

The company has continued to place emphasis on reducing its environmental impact and laying down the ground-work to constantly evolve and improve sustainability performance in the future. Achievements include the establishment of a carbon reduction fund for energy efficiency projects, implementation of a pallet recycling system and investment in a new Green Star Eco-Manufacturing facility in Rosehill, Sydney due to open later in the year.

As well as securing an outstanding green business result, Fuji Xerox Australia has secured significant service deals in 10/11 including Fairfax Community Newspapers and managed print services for the New South Wales Department of Education (DET). These agreements continue to demonstrate Fuji Xerox’s leadership as a key provider in the managed print services sector.

However the year was not without challenges as earlier this month Fuji Xerox made the critical decision to cease procurement from Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL) based on ethical grounds. To learn more please visit: http://www.fujixerox.com.au/about/media/articles/669

Nick Kugenthiran, Managing Director at Fuji Xerox Australia says with a positive approach to growing our business and a solid foundation of annuity revenue streams, we have produced a strong business result for the year.

“Through bold investments in our core business and strategic acquisitions, we have laid foundations for future growth and demonstrated greater confidence than many other businesses outside the mining sector.  Growth was up by 16 percent with a total revenue of $919.9m in 10/11” said Kugenthiran.

Amanda Keogh, Environment and Sustainability Manager at Fuji Xerox Australia, says the sustainability benchmarks achieved this year are a testament to how seriously the company takes sustainability.

“We have made significant improvements over the last year to ensure that Fuji Xerox Australia continues to be a market leader for sustainability in the Asia Pacific region. Our commitment extends to our operations, partners and clients.  We received the Banksia Award for sustainability leadership, and the ACCA award for sustainability reporting. Further we have been recognised in state government environment awards including the NSW Green Globes and the VIC Premier’s Awards” said Keogh.
