Since returning from the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Petria Thomas has been recognised and honoured as one of our greatest athletes ever!

Her awards over the past months include:

• The Don Award
  The most prestigious award given by the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame

• AIS Athlete of the Year

• ACT Sportsperson of the Year

• NSW Sports Federation Athlete of the Year

• OAM in the Australia day Honours List

• The Dawn Fraser Award
  Athlete of the Year for 2004, presented personally by the former swimming champion herself on 2 March 2005. The award recognises not only outstanding sporting achievement but also Petria’s contribution to Australian society and the community.
