Tips for successfully executing a customer experience strategy

Tips for successfully executing a customer experience strategy

Fuji Xerox Australia recently hosted a meeting of the minds on how organisations are tackling the implementation of their customer experience strategies.   What was evident in the discussions was that most of the challenges associated with successful implementation of a customer experience strategy are quite similar amongst organisations. However, one particular challenge prevailed which was that of people.  If culture is the sum total of people’s attitudes and behaviours, and person to person interactions have the biggest impact on a customer’s perception of their experience with your business, then “people” can often be the biggest challenge to executing your customer experience strategy successfully. On the day two key factors were identified as …

How Big Data can enable Education

At a lunch last week with some of the most forward thinking Victorian and Catholic Education business managers and educators we looked at the impact of Big Data amongst some of the other key trends in education (word cloud below shows a variety of trends).     Whilst there are concerns about privacy and security of data, when (especially big data from a variety of sourced) used responsibly it can deliver so many benefits. Data collected from student records, classroom interactions, test results or even learning environments (games and collaboration areas) can tell us a lot about the students, their interests, their learning styles, their strengths and challenges. This data can be used by teachers …

Discussing the sustainable business of law

Discussing the sustainable business of law

Sustainable business of law Earlier this year, we did some research into document processes and trends within the Australian legal industry, with a focus on small and medium firms. You can view the findings and the summary infographic here. To further our understanding of the challenges facing law firms, we recently held a roundtable event in Melbourne to further discuss the findings of this research and how larger firms are seeing these trends play out. What’s good for the community is good for business

What’s good for the community is good for business

Last week I attended the Creating Shared Value Forum in Melbourne, hosted by NAB and Net Balance. The concept of social innovation and ‘Creating Shared Value’ (CSV) is seen by many as the next wave of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the next step in the evolutionary ladder of corporate sustainability. As with all new conceptual frameworks, it has led to some lively discussion between the academics responsible for framing corporate sustainability models. Indeed, the Harvard giant Michael Porter has spoken of the failure of CSR and has suggested CSV in its place. Porter & Kramer’s CSV theory suggests that we can create economic value in a way that also creates value for society, …

Take the pain out of multichannel marketing campaigns at ADMA Forum 2012

Take the pain out of multichannel marketing campaigns at ADMA Forum 2012

As a marketer I’ve lost count of the hours spent in front of the whiteboard, with pen and post-it notes in hand, planning out my next multichannel campaign. Adding even the most basic personalisation to the process only increased the number of iterations, complexity and the corresponding number of post-its and wall space required. I quickly learnt to take photos before the cleaners arrived and wiped away the perfect campaign I had spent hours drawing on the whiteboard, all the while wishing that there was an easier way to share the campaign flow and collaborate with the wider team on the look and how to actually execute it. At the *XMPie User Conference …
