Eco-Manufacturing
Our Eco-Manufacturing Centre is a state-of-the-art engineering facility for the remanufacture of parts and sub-assemblies removed from equipment during service. The Centre opened in 2000 and currently employs over 100 people. It is a total waste management centre for customers sorting returned parts, sub-assemblies, cartridges and packaging for resource recovery. The Centre remanufactures approximately 250,000 parts and sub-assemblies annually to 'better than new' condition.
The Eco-Manufacturing Centre has been well recognised through a series of prestigious awards including:
Institute of Engineers Australia Awards for the Environment
Institute of Engineers, Australia Award for the Environment (NSW Division) in 2002, recognising the Centre’s work in conservation and landfill/waste reduction through recycling.
Eureka Prize
This 2002 award recognised the Eco-Manufacturing Centre at Zetland for its contribution to science, praising its development of technology for the remanufacture of products. The Centre also features in an Excellence in Engineering Technology exhibit at The Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
UN Global 500 Environmental Roll of Honour
In 2000 Fuji Xerox Australia was awarded one of the world’s highest environmental honours, election to the UN Global 500 Roll of Honour, for environmental leadership achievements.
