Image Gateway for Apeos
Document management is important, especially for companies that process a significant amount of information on a daily basis. However, what solution is available that can help businesses to both manage and control document usage?
The answer is Image Gateway for Apeos (IGA), a component-based software platform for the ApeosPort range of devices from Fuji Xerox. Unlike other systems, IGA is comprised of different modules - meaning any company that uses it can tailor the system exactly to what's required.
With IGA, businesses no longer have to rely on disparate systems with multiple vendor products. Instead, they're able to use a single solution that offers security within an integrated platform.
There are also a number of other benefits, which include:
- Capture and route documents within the organisation with ease
- Enforce document security to keep in line with compliance requirements
- Integrate with an existing ECM for enhanced print, scan, search and retrieve functions
- Reduce energy consumption as well as paper usage.
As IGA is completely modular, there many options for businesses starting to use the solution. Of course, it's also no issue to add or remove modules as needed.
Here are several key modules:
This module allows business owners or IT departments to track device usage, whether it's printing, scanning, faxing or copying. What's more, they can track usage directly to users, departments, cost centres or clients. In addition, documents are only printed when they're released by the user directly from the MFD.
Mobile Print for Business
When businesses need to equip workers on the go, Mobile Print for Business is the answer. This module brings the features of IGA to smartphones and tablets, which means these devices can be brought into a secure, controlled and governed framework. As a result, staff can work using their own unique style while the organisation remains protected.
Rules and Routing
Operating print devices without any controls or rules could mean the company is missing out when it comes to both saving time and expenditure. Applying custom business rules and routing could solve these issues in a number of ways. For example, devices could be forced to print double sided by default (saving paper) or analysing the type of document and its size to route it to the most sustainable printing devices. This module can also be integrated with an in-house print room - to ensure that large documents are not produced on smaller devices, not optimised for high-volume production.
