Fuji Xerox Australia wins 2017 Australian Packaging Covenant Award

SYDNEY, September 15, 2017
– Fuji Xerox Australia has won an Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation’s (ACPO) High Performer Award for the fourth consecutive year, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging.

The APCO’s 2017 awards, announced in Melbourne 23 August 2017, celebrate innovative and outstanding achievements in sustainable packaging design, comprehensive recycling systems and product stewardship activities to develop sustainable supply chains.

“With the spotlight now firmly on the waste and recycling industries, there has never been a better time for Australian businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. We commend all our finalists and award winners who are leading their industries toward a more sustainable future, and toward an Australia where packaging resources are used and disposed of wisely to minimise our environmental impact,” said Brooke Donnelly, Chief Executive Officer (Interim), APCO.

“We’re very honoured to accept this award on behalf of the Fuji Xerox Australia team, as sustainability is something we’ve endeavoured to be at the forefront of for many years” said Gavin Kent, Customer Service Manager at Fuji Xerox Australia. “Our people have a highly collaborative approach across the business, passionately focusing on continuous improvement in how we approach our work. This latest High Performers award is further recognition of our company-wide commitment to environmental sustainability in our industry.”

About the Australian Packaging Covenant

The Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) is a sustainable packaging initiative which aims to change the culture of business to design more sustainable packaging, increase recycling rates and reduce packaging litter. Currently almost 1,000 organisations are signatories to the APC. These signatories commit to developing an action plan which details how they will meet the Covenant’s goals. They then report their progress against these goals in an annual report, which is independently assessed. These annual reporting scores determine which signatories are recognised as award winners.
