Iridesse Competition

Iridesse™ Production Press, FutureTech Design Competition Winners Announcement

Sydney June 11, 2019 – Fuji Xerox Australia is pleased to announce the eight winners of its Iridesse™ Production Press Design competition. Developed to educate both print and design communities about the accessibility of digital print enhancement such as gold and silver metallics through the Iridesse™, the competition has been declared a success by Fuji Xerox Australia with nearly 100 registrations received Australia wide.

The eight winners were judged on specific criteria including best use of theme, design appeal and accurate file set up for the Iridesse™ CMYK+ print. With industry experts Kellie Northwood, CEO The Real Media Collective and Theo Pettaras of PIAA and DigitalPress Australia as part of the judging panel the following winners were recognised as the country’s top eight outstanding designs.

The eight lucky winners are: -

  • Lyndal Anderson, Designer, Intertype, Victoria
  • Rehan Saiyed, Owner, StormWorldwide, Victoria
  • Joshua Costalonga, Student, West Press, South Australia
  • David Spiers, Designer, Eckersley Print Group, Queensland
  • Amanda Jones, Designer, Who Printing, New South Wales
  • Michael Glucz, Developer and Digital Strategist, Test Lab Software, Victoria
  • Gayle Marshall, Designer, Suburban Design and Construct, Western Australia
  • Evie Smalley, Designer, Snap Circular Quay, New South Wales

“As a designer working within the print industry, the competition proved both exciting and a challenge with the use of CMYK+ a must to bring the theme to life. I am a happy winner, but I know I worked for it and there is a sense of achievement in that” says Lyndal Anderson of Intertype.

“It was a fun competition, highly personalised throughout and not just for the sake of personalisation. With a background in digital and print I was so pleased at how easy it was to set up the extra spot colours by using the guide provided, I got it right the first time!” said owner of Testlabs, Michael Glucz.

“We are very happy with both the caliber of entries and success of the competition. It was hard to decide on a Top 8 so many have gone on to receive a Highly Commended Award which will form part of an Iridesse™ Presentation Book. Furthermore, the real value has been the positive feedback with entrants requesting additional sample packs to send to their own clients. The competition is doing what we hoped in raising awareness about the value of print and in turn driving demand for our own customers and the industry itself.” Said Roger Labrum, Senior Marketing Manager – Graphic Communications Services, Fuji Xerox Australia.

All eight winning entries can be seen on the Fuji Xerox website and will be featured on display at the Fuji Xerox Stand at Printex 2019.
