About This Report

Our 2016 sustainability report covers the Fuji Xerox Australia financial year ending 31 March 2016, referred to in the report as 15/16. This is our 11th sustainability report, with our first produced in 2005 and our last sustainability report in 2014. [G4-28, G4-29, G4-30]

Since 2005 we have produced an annual sustainability report but deferred publishing a 2015 report due to significant changes in senior management and an organisational restructure which led to competing priorities and reduced resources and bandwidth for essential contributors to the report during the critical report development period.

With formal guidelines provided to operating companies on production of local sustainability reports our report is now produced later in the year to follow the English version of the Fuji Xerox Co Ltd’s annual sustainability report. With this in mind, our 2016 report covers performance year-over-year for at least three years on key metrics and also talks to 14/15 activity where relevant. Due to the later publication of our report, we also comment on notable activity in 16/17 which occurred prior to finalising the draft report for review and sign off by our managing director.

Organisational profile details are as at 31 March 2016.

This report is self-declared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative G4 Core guidelines. [G4-32]

Sustainability Assurance

[G4-33]

Due to a concerted focus on improving our business profitability, the expense of external assurance and data management system changes in the past two years, we undertook internal assurance only for our 2016 report.

We have reported data to the best of our knowledge, in good faith and in accordance with agreed procedures, through Fuji Xerox’s sustainability reporting system. We rely on our internal processes to verify the accuracy of sustainability related data for this report.

Report Boundary

[G4-17]

This report covers the Fuji Xerox Australia operating company which for the purposes of this report includes:

  •  Fuji Xerox Australia Pty Ltd and its sister company Fuji Xerox Finance Ltd. The financial figures in this report reflect the statutory accounts for both entities, adjusted where applicable for inter-company transfers.
  • Upstream Solutions Pty Ltd (Upstream) acquired by Fuji Xerox Australia in 10/11 and is managed as a wholly owned subsidiary.
  • A regional product distribution hub and a regional support centre which Fuji Xerox Australia operates on behalf of Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. While these operations include employees of both Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd and Fuji Xerox Australia, they are accommodated in our premises and contribute to our business results so are considered within the boundary of this report.
  • Our 24 facilities across the country.
  • We have no joint ventures.

This report excludes Fuji Xerox Printers and Fuji Xerox Document Management Solutions Pty Ltd, which are separate Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd entities.

Our report also excludes the environmental footprint of the managed services we provide on customer sites. We recognise that the outsourcing of business processes such as print, design, mail and office services to us involves an obligation to manage processes responsibly, which we are addressing by applying environmental management and measurement practices to the appropriate operational frameworks.

While the scope of this report is heavily focused on our operations in Australia, we also touch on our broader impacts. These extend through an international supply chain, which includes the manufacture of our products in Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Europe and North America; the sourcing of our paper products from various global suppliers; and the international logistics associated with our product transport.

Fuji Xerox Co Ltd also produces a sustainability report that incorporates the sustainability performance of all Fuji Xerox affiliates. See www.fujixerox.com/eng/company/sr/2016

Fiscal Integrity

Ernst and Young conduct our annual financial audits. The financial statements for Fuji Xerox Australia are placed on public record, having been filed with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission. The audit report is free from qualification.

This year our report is focused on the material topics identified through our 2016 materiality assessment and we have limited our report to be self-declared in accordance with GRI G4 Core requirements. Our GRI content index Click here to reference our GRI content index. [G4-23, G4-27, G4-32]
